Why is dating very not fun? and why are people so weird about it?

I am so tired of the dating atmosphere. It seems like most people are only into promiscuous relationships or player ones. It kinda makes me feel queasy. I want to meet someone marriage- minded not player-minded. Also, why do women like it when guys don't even give them attention? I don't get it. Would it be better for me to just stay single? It seems that women cheat a lot in relationships. Oh well. ):
