Am I just being paranoid?

OK this is a different situation. I met this guy last september. he is my BFF's fiance's cousin. I had been hearing about him for 6 years. He came to visit from Texas and we remained in touch over the last year until he moved here 2 months ago. We started talking a lot and hanging out at least a couple of times a week. He said he wanted to take things slow but he's always been very flirty with me. He'll give me looks like he's staring right through me and he always tickles me. We even have silly pet names for each other. We have snuggled and kissed a couple of times too but nothing too intense. I have always been slightly confused about how he feels for me but he would call and text every day. Since last week though something has changed. He didn't even call me on Thanksgiving until late at night I called him and he retuned my call an hour later. The next night he called around 9 while I was at a movie so we couldnt talk. When I called him back he was talking to his Aunt and said he's call me back. He didn't but sent a text saying "ok if we talk tomorrow chickenlamb ?(thats his pet name for me...dont ask lol) youre prob tired anyway...me to." I text back that yeah thats fine and he never did text back or call yesterday. He is obcessed with college football and did have games on all day so maybe that's why but couldnt he just take 5 and call or send a text? I just feel in my gut that in the last few days something has changed. he seems distant. I miss him, we were so close even as friends if nothing else. I haven't text him or called him. What should I do? Has he lost interest in me? I'm confused and sad. I thought we had something special.
