How did European exploration lead to absoulutism?

- On the whole, however, the monarchs of Europe—especially in France, Spain, Prussia, and Austria—had great success at ruling autocratically. Their style of rule, known as absolute monarchy, or absolutism, was a system in which the monarch was supposed to be supreme, in both lawmaking and policy making; in practice, it was really a system of perpetual negotiation between the king and his most powerful subjects that could not, in the long run, meet the challenges of modern war and social change.
